Geometry Shaders Support - November 15, 2006
Flexion Engine now supports programmable
geometry shaders that are core part of Shader
Model 4.0 functionality via recently-released
GL_EXT_geometry_shader4 extension. The extension
allows developers to use the geometry shaders
without Microsoft Windows Vista. See the development log.
Omnidirectional Variance Shadow Mapping -
April 27, 2006
Variance Shadow Maps (VSM) is a new soft-shadowing
algorithm first introduced at I3D 2006. Flexion
Engine now demonstrates the VSM for omnidirectional
light sources using cube maps, namely Omnidirectional Variance Shadow Mapping (OVSM).
New Website Launched - March 4, 2006
Breaking the long silence, the Flexion Engine
website is now finally relaunched (although
most of the pages are still under construction
at this point). Stay tuned for further updates
including screenshots, real-time footage
videos, and technical demos of the Flexion
Engine.
